Paralyzed Dog Scales Mount Washington in Wheelchair

Lucy is a dog who was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico after being paralyzed in a car accident. She received a Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair and has learned to get around very well.

Her new owners decided to test out her determination and endurance by attempting a walk up New Hampshire's Mount Washington -- the tallest peak in the northeastern United States.

In the video, you'll see scenes from the walk made by Lucy and her canine and human friends.

Articulate This! Chainlink 4x4 is frighteningly awesome

We aren't sure who built this or why – we're not even sure what it's called (we think it's "Chainlink") – but we're quite sure it's brilliant. Perhaps the new champion of wheel travel, the off-roading beast has around seven feet of articulation at each wheel, up and down.

Controlling all that climbing and dipping is a Rube Goldberg gear network: 5.38 gears and centrally-mounted ARB air locker, chain gears at the swingarm pivots, and chains inside the swingarms to work Hummer hubs at each wheel. But just follow the jump to watch it in action and you'll see what we mean. It's spectacular. Hat tip to Mike S!

Slegoon Sled Might as Well Double as a Coffin

When you go to pick out your Slegoon for that next killer run down the mountain, be sure to pick a color you like, because you could be living in it for a while. Underground. Like, because, you'll be dead and it's your coffin! Get it?! Anyway, the Slegoon here is the winning entry in the UK IOM3 Design Innovation in Plastics competition. The roll cage, such as it is, protects the rider and doubles as extra runners should the death trap sledding device flip over mid-run.
