Bizarre Rectum Bar Design in Vienna

Considering that I was in Vienna a year ago, this is real shicking to me. Did not think this would fly in Austria, let alone Vienna.

From: http://www.walyou.com/

As offensive or disgusting as this Rectum Bar may be for some, it is also rather educational, for it illustrates an anatomically correct digestion track with great detail, going from tongue to anus, and the large intestine. Better yet, it was an actual real theme bar outside of the Vienna Museums Quarter, so it was also supposed to be artistic. The photographer, Jurgen from Random Good Stuff, has really made sure as to present the detail and realism.

The designer Atlier Van Lieshout explains the project as following:

BarRectum, Arsch Bar, Asshole Bar, Bar Anus. While the translations sound different, the form is universally recognizable. The bar takes its shape from the human digestive system: starting with the tongue, continuing to the stomach, moving through the small and the large intestines and exiting through the anus. While BarRectum is anatomically correct, the last part of the large intestine has been inflated to a humongous size to hold as many drinking customers at the bar as possible. The anus itself is part of a large door that doubles as an emergency exit.

Now the question is really…would you buy a drink there?

U2 to play Jackson Vienna tribute - reports

U2 are reported to be among the line-up for the Michael Jackson tribute show which will be staged in Vienna next month.

According to the Associated Press U2 will perform alongside Madonna, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston at the event.

Event organisers have yet to confirm the line-up, stating only that members of the late performer's family will appear with "a high profile line-up of international stars".

Jackson's brother Jermaine said in a statement on the World Awards Media's web site that the concert was conceived as an annual event to keep alive not only Jackson's music, "but his spirit as well".

He added: "He loved castles. And we're going to have this huge celebration in front of a castle."

Vienna's Schoenbrunn Palace, will serve as the backdrop for what organisers have billed as a "global" farewell tribute to Michael Jackson next month.

On its website World Awards Media said: "For one incredible night Michael Jackson's unforgettable music will be brought to life again.

"Some of the world's leading artists will perform Michael's greatest hits live in Vienna in front of one of the most fascinating historical sites in Europe and celebrate the life of the 'King of Pop'."

The 85,000 tickets for the show are due to go on sale on 20 August.

The precious gold piece of art has the face of Queen Elizabeth II on one side and on the other a maple leaf can be found. It’s weight is 100 kg, thickness is 3 cm, and the diameter - approximately have a meter. The coin will be preserved in a special display protected against thievery and breakage, because the current price for the coin is stated to be 2 mil € and it is insured for 3 mil €. The unique coin is created by the Canadian Monetary Agency for it’s hundredth anniversary.

Today five such coins can be found. At first eleven should have been created but later the count went down to six. Unfortunately one of the original six was written off because it was two grams lighter. In the neighboring display the world smallest gold antique coin can be found. Its weight is just about 0.24 gr. It was most probably issued during 2nd century B.C in a downworth Austrian Celtic Village. It would fit its “greater” sisters volume exactly 400 000 times.
