The incredible 3D images that pop off the page... created with just a pencil and paper

By Lee Moran
From http://www.dailymail.co.uk/

He's a modern day master making incredible 3D images that pop off the page - armed only with a pencil and a piece of paper.

At just 20-years-old, Chilean artist Fredo is quickly captivating the online art world with his series of graphite sketches.

He is now planning to take his art to the streets in a bid to spread his fanbase from the virtual world to the real one.

Scroll down for video...

Fredo, whose real name is Wladimir Inostroza, learnt his startling technique purely by accident.

Drawing a butterfly whilst laid out on his bed, he realised the picture had been stretched out across the page.

On closer inspection he saw how the animal appeared to be floating, and that by chance he had used a method similar to one used by English 3D artist Julian Beever.

After adding in the shade with a set of charcoals, he took a photograph - and has never looked back.

With
his own blog, thousands of fans on his Facebook page, and countless
pages dedicated to his work, Fredo is now keen to expand on his talents and
take his art to the streets of Santiago and beyond.

Just hanging around: Chilean illusionists stage amazing levitation to celebrate country's anniversary

By Mail Foreign Service

From: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/

A pair of Chilean twins have broken the world levitation record by hovering above the ground for an extraordinary 200 minutes.

Nicolas Luisetti and John Paul Olhaberry staged the event in Chile's capital Santiago to mark the country's 200th anniversary.

The magic twins stunned thousands of passers-by as they floated above the city's streets.

The stunt brought traffic to a standstill as thousands of people tried to work out how the trick was done

Their only visible support was a post which each had one hand placed on.

The feat, which involved the pair levitating seven metres above the ground, was broadcast on a giant screen as traffic was brought to standstill.

The crowd gathered below suggested a number of different explanations for how the twins may have carried out the stunt, including having some sort of iron bar through their clothing and attached to the pole.

Magic: The twins have not said how they managed to carry out the extraordinary stunt for over 8 hours

The twins are already considered the most famous illusionists in the country.

The pair have made numerous television appearances in the past and are set to carry out further high-profile events to mark the country's anniversary.

Their stunts are similar to those carried out by U.S magician David Blane who became famous for his extraordinary levitation trick.

Nation-wide celebrations for Chile's bicentenary are set to take place on September 18.

Watch a video of the twin's amazing stunt below:

Paradoxymoron (optical Illusion)

From: http://www.flickr.com
By: mariachi2006

This is a movie of a super-cool "painting" hanging in the basement of the British Library, in London. The author has done many such paintings, but this is the best (and all the others are very similar). It's called "Paradoxymoron", by Patrick Hughes

8 Mind-Boggling Optical Illusions

Test your perception with these wild designs

By Olivia Putnal

from WomansDay.com

If you’ve ever felt like you go a little cross-eyed after taking a peek at an optical illusion, then you know they can be a pretty intense phenomenon. What your eyes perceive when looking at one of these images is actually a visual illusion; you see the image as something different than what it is because the different cells and receptors in your eyes distinguish images and colors at dissimilar speeds. The eye can only receive a limited amount of visual stimuli, but as your brain constantly processes the visual information, it gives you the illusion of continuous sight. Whether it’s an optical, physiological or cognitive illusion, the design plays a trick on your eyes (and mind). Check out some of interesting illusions below—but beware, you may not be able to absorb them all in one sitting.

Flowing Leaves

If you stare at this one long enough you’ll notice a fast and pulsing multicolored vortex. Photo from Flickr

Hypnosis

Kaleidoscopes
