By John Stevens

Priced at $1 million, this human slinky could be the most expensive fancy dress costume on earth.
The item is currently listed on eBay with the seven-figure 'Buy it Now' price tag, with 10 per cent going to the American Cancer Society.

The buyer gets five years permission to perform on stages across the world in the costume, which has previously been seen on 'America's Got Talent' and The Late Show with David Letterman.
You can also wear the costume for a lifetime at Halloween and private parties.
The costume, which is listed as being located in Florida, rainbow coloured in the same style as the classic eighties toy.

Her most intricate Halloween outfit yet? Heidi Klum goes all out as she's wheeled in to annual party on an autopsy table
By Sarah Bull
From http://www.dailymail.co.uk/
But there was no chance of anyone upstaging Heidi Klum at her party last night.
The 38-year-old model was wheeled in to the event on an autopsy table by two blood-spattered doctors.

Project Runway host Klum decided to dress up as a dead body for the event, and spent the majority of the day being airbrushed with make-up to ensure her appearance was as realistic as possible.
Talking about the outfit, Klum said:
'It’s kind of like a dead body with the first layer of skin ripped off. It’s basically like me naked.

Klum teamed her extraordinary outfit with a pair of sky-high black heels, and impressively realistic rotten teeth.
The German supermodel had been keeping her fans updated on the progress of her outfit throughout the day, posting pictures of each stage on Twitter.

From having the skull cap applied, to showing the basic 'road map' of the dead body design on her face, to finally showing off the airbrushed make-up before heading to the event, there is no doubt that Klum's outfit is the most intricate and
time-consuming of the occasion.
Klum is no stranger to dressing up for Halloween, going bigger and better every year.
However, she has also previously caused controversy with some of her outfits, with her 2008 costume of the Goddess Kali sparking outrage from Hindu leaders who demanded an apology.

'I mean that is one of my most favorite times of the year. I've done so many different things. This was probably my tenth time and I've done so many people like Betty Boop and Lady Godiva and it’s always a take on someone. You’re not that person.'
In 2009, Heidi and husband Seal dressed up as birds of a feather, but Klum said the outfits were difficult to cope with.
She said: 'It was bad. My husband was driving and he could hardly see anything...
When you have a beak on, you can't talk to anyone, you can't really
drink. It's not a good costume!'

The Hilariously Bad Disguises of the German Secret Police
From: http://gawker.com/
Check out these great cold war-era photos of some totally normal East German citizens, who are definitely not members of the secret police! How innocuous they are, these completely non-suspicious-looking gentlemen, who could not possibly be Stasi officers in disguise, especially not the fellow in sunglasses and the enormous fur coat with the upturned collar. Nope, just some regular guys.
Psych! I know you were totally fooled, but these are photographs of Stasi officers participating in a course called "art of disguising." In fact—I know this will come as a shock—the first two photographs are of the same guy. Don't act too surprised!
The photos, discovered by Berlin-based artist Simon Menner in the Stasi archives, are from an internal course called "art of disguising" (and what an art it is!); Menner has an exhibition in Berlin at the Morgen Contemporary called "Pictures from the Secret Stasi Archives," featuring these photos and others. (Also included: "snapshots of private homes taken by Stasi agents before they conducted secret searches," used to restore an apartment to its pre-search condition.)

UK Storm Trooper armourer can go on selling his gear; Brit copyright on Star Wars costumes has lapsed
George Lucas loses Stormtrooper battle at Supreme Court
Mr Ainsworth sells his Stormtrooper costumes for up to £1,800
A prop designer who made the original Stormtrooper helmets for Star Wars has won his battle with director George Lucas over his right to sell replicas.
Andrew Ainsworth, 62, of south London, successfully argued the costumes were functional not artistic works, and so not subject to full copyright laws.

Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress sells for $5.6 million at auction

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Marilyn Monroe's white "subway" dress sold for more than $5.6 million in a Beverly Hills, California auction Saturday night in which bidders paid another $2.7 million for three other Monroe movie outfits.
It was the first in a series of auctions to sell the massive Hollywood history collection that singer, dancer and actress Debbie Reynolds accumulated over the past 50 years.
Collector Keya Morgan said Saturday's bids were "totally crazy, especially in this recession."
Bidding for the iconic ivory pleated dress Monroe wore in "The Seven Year Itch" was "totally magical," Morgan said.
Reynolds was in tears when, after 20 minutes of drama, the gavel sounded an end to bidding with the price at $4.6 million.
With the auction company getting a $1 million commission, the buyer will pay $5.6 million. It had been expected to sell for $2 million, the auction house, Profiles in History, said.
The buyer, who was relaying his bids over a telephone, was not immediately identified.
The red-sequined showgirl gown and a feathered hat Monroe wore in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" sold for $1.47 million. The expected price was $300,000.
Monroe's costumes from "There's No Business Like Show Business" and "River of No Return" brought another $1.2 million Saturday.
The previous record price for a Monroe dress was $1.26 million paid in 1999 for the sheer white dress the actress wore in May 1962 when she sang "Happy Birthday" to President John F. Kennedy.
Morgan, who is writing a book about Monroe's death, said the actress would have been shocked to know her dresses would sell for so much. She only had $2,000 in her bank account at the time of her death, he said.
Reynolds accumulated 3,500 movie costumes and thousands of props over the past 50 years with the hope of housing them in a museum. Taking care of the treasures became a financial burden on the 79-year-old entertainer, leading to her decision to sell, she said.
Other high-priced items included a blue cotton dress and a pair of ruby slippers made for Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz." Although both items were only test costumes never worn in camera, they brought a combined price of nearly $1.75 million.
A matador outfit worn by Rudolph Valentino for the 1922 film "Blood and Sand" sold for $258,000. The auction house predicted before the sale it would go for about $80,000.
One of Charlie Chaplin's signature bowler hats, worn in several films, sold for $135,300.
The World War I military uniform worn by Gary Cooper in the 1941 movie "Sergeant York" was purchased for $67,650.
A bidder paid $73,800 for the velvet brown racing silks and riding pants worn by a young Elizabeth Taylor in "National Velvet.
