Zenvo to Produce "Real Supercar with Excessive Power"

The phrase “Danish design” brings to mind odd-looking chairs and bright-colored handbags -- not what you see above. Still, Zenvo Automotive asserts its ST1 hypercar is pure Dane conceived, engineered, and assembled. The company produced its first prototype in 2004 and aims to provide “a real supercar with excessive power.” With a claim of 1104 horsepower and 1054 lb-ft of torque, Zenvo seems to be right on track.

The spec list reads like a car nut’s Christmas wish list. There’s a 7.0L V-8, a turbocharger, a supercharger, a six-speed transmission, a hydraulic limited slip, carbon fiber everything, forged aluminum wheels, a heads-up display, stereo with navigation, and an electronically limited 200-plus mph top speed. Oh, and traction control, too.

All that goodness has the company targeting a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 3.0 seconds flat. A prototype came close in a shakedown test, hitting 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and 124 mph in 8.9 seconds.

Only 15 models will be produced and sold to approved customers, who will have the ability to option for carbon wheels, bigger brakes, and a roll cage with a four-point safety harness. Zenvo predicts production of the ST1 will begin in 2009. Sure.
