Riding Along With the Ferrari California


Any new Ferrari is worth celebrating. After all, every one of them becomes an instant icon even if it turns out to be one of Ferrari's few blunders. With the new California, Ferrari produces its first front-engine, V8-powered road car and its most, ahem, "affordable" model since the old Dino 206GT. And of course, it's gorgeous.

This short film was obviously produced by Ferrari as an intro to the California and as a sales tool. There's nothing here in the way of screeching tires, massive burnouts or Michael Schumacher hot laps — it's just the California gliding along some of Europe's best roads in the most deliciously beautiful way possible. In short, it's sports car porn and a big old tease. And sometimes I like being teased.

But dang it, I can't wait for the California to get out to California so I can drive it.
