Pricing on new 2009 TL announced


TORRANCE, California — Acura said its redesigned 2009 TL will start at $35,715, including a $760 destination charge, when it arrives in showrooms on September 24. That is a $1,230 increase over the outgoing 2008 Acura TL, which started at $34,485, including shipping.

The front-wheel-drive 2009 TL with the technology package will start at $39,445, including shipping.

The all-wheel-drive 2009 Acura TL will hit showrooms in November. The base AWD model will start at $39,265. A top-of-the-line 2009 TL SH-AWD with technology package, 19-inch alloy wheels and high-performance summer tires starts at $43,995.

The technology package bundles the Acura navigation system with such goodies as real-time traffic, weather radar mapping, Acura/ELS surround premium audio system, keyless access with push-button ignition and interior upgrades.

The 2009 TL gets a standard 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 280 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque linked to a five-speed automatic transmission. The uplevel TL SH-AWD gets the 3.7-liter V6 that makes 350 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.

What this means to you: The bigger and better TL comes with a bigger price tag.
