Turn Your iPhone Into A Gameboy Color

From the awesome mind of Tom at Short Sleeve Alliance, come these fantastic decals for your iPhone. You can instantly turn it into the most radical handheld gadget that has ever been invented. I remember when the Gameboy color came out…out what a year that was. I wish I could go back to that time and just live there forever. Playing video games…watching Rocko’s Modern Life…eating Pizza Bagels and Cinnamon Toast Crunch all day long.

I intitally found Tom Tom from his Etsy store and didn’t know he had more than just the Gameboy decal…but check out what else he’s got! An NES controller, R2D2, a sweet wood grain and a Polaroid camera. Not only do these all rock my face off…they’re only $6! Now if only I had the $400 for the iPhone. These are just too cool…I think my favorite might actually be the Soundwave one. What other things would you like to see?

ThinkGeek TK-421 case brings QWERTY keypad to iPhones

ThinkGeek's TK-421 iPhone case features a (working!) swing-out QWERTY keypad and works with the iPhone 4 or 3GS.

Users of BlackBerry devices and several other messaging-centric phones have long derided the Apple iPhone for its virtual on-screen keyboard. Now, ThinkGeek is looking to offer iPhone users some thumb-tastic messaging credibility with its new TK-421 case for the iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, which features a (working!) swing-out QWERTY keyboard for users’ messaging needs.

The keyboard works with the iPhone as a Bluetooth input device, which means no alterations to the phone are required for the keyboard to work, although use does mean tapping a little extra battery power to keep Bluetooth running. As a standard input device, the keypad should work with any installed iPhone application or service, including email, text messaging, social networking clients, Web browsers, and more. A magnetic clasp holds the keypad open or closed, and the keyboard itself is powered by a rechargeable battery: pop the device onto a USB port to recharge. ThinkGeek is offering separate models for the iPhone 4 and 3GS, owing to the devices’ different sizes. The case is not compatible with the iPhone 3G or original iPhone.

The ThinkGeek TK-421 case will be available in late November for $49.99.

DIY Zipper-Case Earbuds Are the Ultimate Tangle-Free Headphone Solution

At this point, we've all found our favorite headphone-wrapping method, and even if yours works, I can promise you it's not as clever or inventive as DIYer Papydom's earbud zipper case.

zipper-case-earbuds.jpg

Papydom details how he combined a long zipper (in his case, from a clothing cover, but nearly any long enough zipper should do), head earbuds, and a little bit of sewing know-how to create this extremely clever earbud zipper case. The video above says it all. Head over to DIY site Instructables for the full walkthrough. And someone get this brilliant man a job doing this always.

Mili PowerSpring 4 doubles the battery life of your iPhone 4

There's a big difference between the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S. No, not iOS vs. Android 2.1 or even Retina vs. Super AMOLED. We're talking batteries: one is removable and one isn't -- guess which is which? This perennial iPhone "feature" has spawned as entire industry of device-specific accessories that sate the need for more juice while simultaneously killing the form (and aesthetic) of an otherwise pocketable gadget. But hey, it's your only choice when you're either too busy (CES) or unable (intercontinental flights) to tether yourself to a power socket. And guess what? Those curvy battery packs that hugged your iPhone 3G/3GS won't work with the boxy iPhone 4. So, here's the latest, and one of the first iPhone 4 cases with an extended battery pack to ship. The Mili PowerSpring 4 starts shipping today for £54.99 (or $85 on Amazon). It claims to be the world's thinnest iPhone 4 battery pack to double your battery life thanks to a 1600mAh capacity Li-Pol battery. That makes this roadwarrior necessity just a bit less evil.

Vapor4 May Be the First Bumper Worthy of the iPhone 4

Vapor4 May Be the First Bumper Worthy of the iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 shatters easily, and its tiny plastic bezel offers no protection. On top of that, touching its metal rim causes interferences. The Vapor4 bumper—made of aluminum—may solve most of these design problems. And it looks great:

Of course, nothing looks as cool as the iPhone 4 on its own, but if you want to avoid the antenna problems and the shattering, you are going to need one of these. They are made of aluminum, and they have an interior liner that separates the metal from the antenna, insulating it. The manufacturer—the same who makes the beautiful Joule iPad stand—told me that their tests showed no interference whatsoever across all models of iPhone:

We basically wrapped it in an inch thick of anodized aluminum all around with our special secret liner inside, nothing impacted the reception.

We will have to test this, but it definitely is the first bumper that actually looks cool. Especially the way you put it together, with those hex screws.

The Vapor4 is not cheap, although not as expensive as the beautiful exotic wood back replacement: The Vapor4 is $80. For $100 you also get the V4Carbon, a carbon fiber back plate that will further protect the iPhone 4 fragile glass back. [Elementcase]

Magnet Case Keeps Your iPod Stuck To You, And Also, This Is How You Sell Products

ipod-magnets.jpg

The iStik is a $27 iPod case that has neodymium magnets on its two parts so you can stick it to your bikini or running shorts (one magnetic piece goes on the inside, case goes on the outside). Pretty clever. And also, based purely on the above imagery, I just bought a dozen --and I don't even own an iPod! Now that's how you sell products. Advertisers take note: when in doubt, T&A. A letter, a symbol, and another letter to live by.

Hit the jump for another product shot.
