370Z Specs Leaked

LOS ANGELES — The hotly awaited 2009 Nissan 370Z will make its debut in a few days at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. In the meantime, the auto show's Web site has leaked a few details about the car.

The site says the 370Z gets Nissan's 3.7-liter V6 that is also in the Infiniti G37. In the 370Z, output is increased 26 horsepower, to 332 hp. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. In the latter form, it will have a synchronized downshift rev-matching system, which Nissan calls a first.

The 370Z will be lighter in weight and shorter in wheelbase measurements than the 350Z it replaces. Numbers were not given, but the auto show site said there is a "better power-to-weight ratio."

Inside Line says: Not much longer to wait for the new Z.

This car looks amazing, like a Porsche but is not a Porsche.
