Audi A7 Spied

About a month ago we brought you design renderings of Audi’s planned A7 sedan. Today, a series of spy photos have hit the web showing the CLS fighter undergoing testing. The prototype wears subtle camouflage, enough to hide the mass between the C- and D-pillars, but not enough to obscure the shape. Look closer and you’ll see someone sitting in the backseat. The A7 will ride on a stretched version of the A5 platform (as does the A8 and upcoming A6), and could come with a multitude of engines -- though we're guessing the most popular choice will be Audi's new supercharged 3.0L V-6 that will also serve duty in the S4 and upcoming A6. We'll have to wait to see exactly how the A7 slots into the VW Group portfolio, but we'll be expecting more power and refinement from VW's premium take on the four-place coupe -- an entry that should serve as middle ground between VW's own Passat CC and Mercedes-Benz' CLS in price, performance, and luxury.
