Aston Martin One-77

What you see here is the first official confirmation of a new Aston Martin flagship. Details are scarce, but the car—called the One-77—is sure to be fast; we expect its 7.0-liter V-12 powerplant to trump the current DBS flagship’s 5.9-liter V-12. In our latest test, we clocked the 510-horsepower DBS running 0–60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.

The Aston’s trademark beautiful styling will come courtesy of a handcrafted aluminum body. Sitting over a chassis made of carbon fiber, this lightweight combo is sure to help the One-77 stay trim and fit, thus increasing performance.

Aston Martin reports the One-77 will be in very limited supply, so we expect to see as few as—you guessed it—77 examples, especially considering the car’s own Web site, which is www.one-of-77.com. The British automaker is looking to follow in the tracks of competitors like Lamborghini and its Reventón, with pricing rumored to see the £1 million mark. Stay tuned for the latest details, as we expect real photos and more information soon
