KITT Lives: the Knight Rider R/C Car

Knight Rider RC CarThis Sunday, February 17 (which also happens to be my birthday) is the NBC premiere of the Knight Rider movie, starring soap actor Justin Bruening as Mike Tracer, estranged son of Michael Knight. (Yes, David Hasselhoff will be making a guest appearance.) NBC hopes that if enough viewers tune in to watch the two-hour movie event, that it will become a TV series in the future. Hmmmm....So, it only seems fitting to let fans of the hit 80's show know that they can take home a piece of TV history with the release of the Knight Rider R/C Car. This officially licensed Pontiac Trans-Am replica can be controlled to move forwards, backwards, left, and right, and also has a "turbo-boost" function. Here comes the important question: does it talk? You betcha: just press the button on the transmitter to be greeted with "I am KITT, whom you may regard as the voice of the Knight 2000."

The car itself measures 4.75 by 3.5 by 13 inches (WHD) and sells for $49.95 at Firebox.com. Make sure you check out the video of KITT in action—it's highly entertaining.
