    There was never a shark sighting off Cape Cod. That was pure speculation. A great white's metabolism can't be upheld in waters that can reach below 15 C or their blood cells will metastasize. If you need proof refer to National Geographic volume #14204. The article "When is a Shark Not Just a Fish?" will explain this fact.
