These days, the naked calendar has become a fundraising staple on par with the bake sale or the bikini car wash. But a group of ambulance workers in the U.K. made waves when their nude charity calendar was banned from ambulance stations across the region.

The "Bare in the Air" calendar shows air and ground ambulance staff in saucy poses in which equipment such as bandages, defibrillator paddles and a first-aid kit are used to cover the paramedics' privates. But some employees of the North West Ambulance Service, whom the calendar was intended to raise funds for, feel the calendar compromises the integrity of the job.

Bob Parkinson, vice-chairman of the staff side of NWAS, said, "We have all seen calendars like these before but this one oversteps the mark of what is acceptable ... We won't allow the sale of this calendar on NWAS premises. We neither support nor endorse this calendar."

We don't see anything wrong with hanging out nude at work, but we can't help but wonder what will happen the first time a patient with heart problems is confronted with Miss October. See more extremely dignified pictures from the calendar after the jump.
